The Pentagon's missile defense chief, Daniel Karbler, said that Washington has not sent yet any "Iron Dome" air defense system to Ukraine, and that "one of them is ready for shipment if requested," according to Russia Today.

"The US Army has one battery available for on-demand deployment," Karbler added at a Senate hearing.

He pointed out that the ground forces have two Israeli Iron Dome batteries, but new equipment is being installed on one of them, and the second is ready for delivery.

And the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, John Plumb, admitted during the session that he did not know whether such systems were "offered to Ukraine to increase its military capabilities to confront the Russian invasion."

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, setting off the largest armed conflict in Europe since the end of World War II.
