US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that a return to the Iran nuclear agreement "is neither imminent nor certain," adding that Washington is preparing for different scenarios in this regard.
US media quoted Price as saying that the final weeks of negotiating the nuclear deal were important, but he stressed "I want to be clear that the agreement is neither imminent nor certain."
"In fact, we are preparing equally for scenarios with and without a return to full implementation of the nuclear deal," he said.
Price noted that President Joe Biden's commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is still formidable.
On the other hand, Price affirmed that the United States of America is ready to make concessions to reconcile with Tehran.
