A war of words has broken out on Twitter between Lebanese singer Carole Samaha and Ofir Gendelman, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Arab media spokesperson, after the latter decried Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi over her statements about the book of “Protocols of the Elders of Zion".

He also described El-Roumi's remarks as "racist" and "fascist ", slamming also Carole Samaha for supporting her compatriot, saying that such words should be issued by two great artists.

The spokesman claimed that the protocols have been falsified in Russia in the 19th century with the aim of inciting the Jewish people. He added that they represent a blood libel that led to many massacres.

On her part, Carole Samaha slammed the Israeli spokesman’s statements, accusing his country of practicing racism and discriminations between western and western Jews, nevertheless the Israeli crimes that are being committed against Palestinian children and occupying lands of other countries as was the case in Jerusalem and Golan Heights.

She added that all such practices of Israel are against all international laws.

Gendelman also replied to Samaha, saying, “Do not shirk your responsibility that you have supported El-Roumi’s statements, in which, she expressed her fidelity in the forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which was the base for many massacres and the Nazis, who slaughtered 6 million Jews.

“The killing 6 million Jews do not give you the right to occupy the lands of other countries and shed the blood of innocent Palestinian children,” Carole replied.
