The total value of capital invested in new business projects in Israel during January and February of the current year declined to $800 million, including $300 million last February, after the volume in January and February of last year had reached $1 billion.

A report issued by the Center for Business and Economic Research at the Leumi Banking and Financial Institution in Israel stated that the continuation of the war in Gaza was a factor with a significant impact on the decline in the volume of investments in new businesses in Israel.

The report also revealed that the information technology sector and its new companies in Israel have been severely affected since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, a sector whose private sector investments in projects during the past year amounted to $6.9 billion, declining from $15 billion in the year 2022 and $26.6 billion in the year 2021.
