"WandaVision" director Matt Shakman is set to direct the next untitled "Star Trek" movie for Paramount and Bad Robot’s JJ Abrams.
He is directing from a script by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
The movie will be the first Star Trek movie to be written by female screenwriters. It is set to begin production next spring.
After WandaVision, Shakman is now one of the A-list film directors. He came out of the theater and remains the artistic director of the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Prior to the Marvel series, he was EP and director of "The Great" and helmed episodes of "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Fargo", and "Game of Thrones".
