“WandaVision” consists of 6 episodes and is set to be streamed exclusively on Disney+. The series is written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman.
The series takes inspiration from 1950s sitcoms and sees Wanda (Olsen) and Vision (Bettany) living suburban lives until they begin to suspect not everything is as it seems.
It will take place after the events of the 2019 movie “Avengers: Endgame”.
The series, which is the first streaming series from Marvel Studios, launches a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as its streaming shows will directly impact its films for the first time.
It is set to launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 4 which will contain several different movies and TV shows including “Black Widow”, “The Eternals”, and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
“WandaVision” will be leading into 2022's big-screen feature "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", and new characters such as the hero Ms. Marvel expected to appear on the big screen after toplining her Disney+ show.
It was not supposed to launch the MCU Phase 4, but after the coronavirus pandemic halted productions, the series was the only production close to being finished, which led to it being the first MCU Phase 4 series.
