UNODC Executive Director Ghada Waly said that Egypt is committed to combating corruption in accordance with the UN conventions.

Speaking to Egypt's channel 1, Waly said: "Egypt has been encouraging States members of the Convention against Corruption to participate in the ninth session of the Working Group, to be held from 13 to 17 Dec. 2021 in Cairo."

Waly noted that Egypt is among the best countries in the world where corruption is being combated and handled most effectively during the awful pandemic thanks to the support of the country's leadership.

It's worth mentioning that the United Nations Convention against Corruption is the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument.

This convention also shed light on many different forms of corruption, such as bribery, trading in influence, abuse of functions, and various acts of corruption in the private sector.
