Lebanese superstar, Wael Jassar's upcoming concert in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, due on August 7, has been postponed indefinitely.

The decision comes in line with the health measures currently imposed by the Iraqi government in various parts of the country, which includes full closure, quarantining, social distancing, and the suspension of all artistic and cultural activities until the infection rates subside.

The country has reached a dangerous stage in the past few days with the number of daily new cases reached thousands.

In a statement on Tuesday, Jassar expressed his wholehearted support to the Iraqi citizens in their current crisis, wishing that the ordeal would pass peacefully, the pace of infections would decline, and life would return to normal soon.

The star promised his fans a visit in the future, during which he will perform a bigger concert in compensation for the postponed concert.
