European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen asserted on Thursday that supporting Ukraine means the fight for their continent.
During her visit to Kyiv, Von der Leyen stressed full support for Ukraine, as Europe deepen further support and cooperation for the latter.
"Because we know that the future of our continent is being written here," she highlighted.
"We know that you are fighting for more than yourselves. What is at stake is freedom. This is a fight of democracies against authoritarian regimes.
In her remarks, the European Commission President affirmed that need to step up the pressure on Russia, planning to hit at the core of the latter's economy.
"Our price cap on crude oil costs Russia around EUR 160 million every day. And our sanctions are also cutting off access to the high-tech items Putin needs to sustain his military machine," she indicated.
