On Monday, a volcano erupted in Reykjanes, Iceland, following an earthquake around an hour later, authorities said.
Massive bursts of lava and smoke enlightened the darkened sky after weeks of early volcanic activity which led to evacuating a nearby town.
Iceland’s Coast Guard posted a video that showed one of the helicopters at the scene, flying over glowing lava. The air was filled with smoke and the sky was lit by orange, red, and yellow.
The Authorities said on Tuesday In a statement that the latest eruption is the fourth eruption in the region since 2021, adding that this eruption is the biggest until now.
