As part of the Federal Agency for International Cooperation’s interest in engaging with Egyptian universities that teach the Russian language, Dr. Vadim Zaytchikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, visited Hurghada University.
He was received by Dr. Mahfouz Abdel Sattar Abu Al-Fadl, the University President.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Osama Ammara, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages); Dr. Mohamed Gad Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information; Dr. Mohamed Nasr Al-Jabali, founder and supervisor of the Russian Language Department at Hurghada University; Dr. Taha Khalifa, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun; Dr. Ahmed Fayed, Assistant Lecturer in Russian; and a number of faculty members.

The University President emphasized that the meeting aligns with Hurghada University’s ongoing efforts to enhance its international openness, develop its academic and research system, and build international scientific partnerships with other institutions.
The meeting discussed means to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the university and Russian educational institutions.
Among the discussed topics were developing Russian language programs at the Faculty of Al-Alsun to meet the needs of the labor market and the tourism sector in the Red Sea Governorate, organizing joint academic and training programs, exploring the possibility of establishing a specialized track in Russian studies in partnership with prominent Russian universities, and opening joint research opportunities in fields such as artificial intelligence and languages.

The University President affirmed that Hurghada University is steadily working toward building an integrated educational system that aligns with international standards and connects the educational process to the labor market.
He noted that communication with foreign educational institutions is one of the university’s most important future priorities.
On his side, Dr. Zaytchikov expressed his pleasure with the visit, confirming that the Russian Cultural Center welcomes any joint initiatives supporting language education and the academic process.
He also expressed the openness of Russian universities to building joint programs with Hurghada University.
At the end of the visit, students from the Russian Language Department presented a cultural performance featuring a selection of Russian poems and folk songs, reflecting the students’ interest in the Russian language and their ability to master it in speech and song.
