Sudanese sources told Sky News Arabia, on Saturday, that violent clashes broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) west of Khartoum, in which heavy weapons were used.

The sources pointed out that reports of artillery shelling were heard in the vicinity of the radio and television station in the suburb of Omdurman."

From Thursday evening until Friday morning, clashes took place between the two warring sides of the conflict in Sudan, after talks that were aimed at stabilizing a ceasefire and alleviating a humanitarian crisis stalled, prompting the United States to impose sanctions.

Reuters reported, quoting residents in Khartoum and the neighboring city of Omdurman, that the army had resumed air strikes and used more artillery as the clashes continued, in the absence of any indications of the RSF's withdrawal from the city's streets and occupied homes.

Last Thursday, the United States and Saudi Arabia announced the suspension of the truce talks, after the collapse of a ceasefire they had brokered, accusing the two sides of occupying homes, businesses, and hospitals, launching air strikes and attacks, and carrying out prohibited military actions.
