Violent clashes broke out today, Saturday between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers in the camps of Jenin and Qalandia, north of Jerusalem, after an Israeli force stormed the two camps.
Palestinian sources reported that the Palestinian militants detonated an explosive device in one of the Israeli army vehicles during its storming of the Jenin camp.
Pictures showed plumes of smoke rising from the area of the explosion, and eyewitnesses said the explosive device was “highly explosive.”
Video clips published on social media showed the arrival of large Israeli military reinforcements to the camp.
The Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that large Israeli army forces stormed Jenin and its camp, seized buildings, and turned them into observation points.
Local sources reported that gunfire targeted Israeli forces during their storming of Qalandia camp, north of Jerusalem.
It is noteworthy that 16 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank yesterday, Friday, in confrontations with Israeli forces in several cities during demonstrations and protests against the war on Gaza.
