Jeddah Astronomy Society revealed that the orbit of Venus will be at its furthest point to Sun today, Sunday.

The society added in its report that the orbit will look more round-shaped. The planet will shine at 11:05 GMT.

Venus will shine on the southern horizon and it can be spotted by the naked eye as it will look like a bright star. People who will use telescopes will see 61% of the planet's surface lit.

The phenomenon will last for an hour after sunset.

Last May, a conjunction between Venus and the crescent moon occurred. It attracted sky lovers in the MENA region, including Egypt.

Both celestial bodies appeared before sunrise, and they were the brightest two objects in the sky.

The phenomenon was observed by the naked eye, on the other hand, people who observed the event through telescopes recognized that the size of Venus changes due to its location towards its most distant points from the Earth.
