Multiple inside sources at Sony revealed Tuesday that the highly-anticipated movie "Venom: Let There By Carnage" the sequel to 2018’s “Venom“, could be delayed until January 21, 2022.
According to Vulture, Sony will wait until after the annual CinemaCon convention before making an announcement.
The sequel was originally scheduled to be released in October 2020 but was postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, most recently getting pushed back one week from Sept. 24 to Oct. 15, 2021.

"Venom: Let There Be Carnage" revolves around Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), a crazed serial killer, survives a lethal injection in prison, which awakens the symbiote inside of him and transforms him into Carnage. He and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his alter-ego Venom, fight in a massive symbiote showdown.
Andy Serkis is directing the follow-up from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel from a story by Marcel and Hardy.
The Columbia Pictures movie, in association with Marvel and Tencent Pictures, also stars Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Naomie Harris. It is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
Williams is reprising her role as Anne, Brock’s former fiancée, and Harris playing the sonic supervillain Shriek.
The movie began filming in late 2019, where it picks after the end credits scene of the 2018 original, which teased the first meeting between Eddie and Kasady.
