Sony Pictures released on Monday new footage from the highly-anticipated movie “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, the sequel to 2018’s “Venom“.

The movie features Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady, Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek, and Michele Williams as Anne Weying/She-Venom.

It follows the origins of the movie’s villain Kasady (Harrelson), a crazed serial killer who survives a lethal injection in prison, which awakens the symbiote inside of him and transforms him into Carnage.

He and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his alter-ego Venom, fight in a massive symbiote showdown.

Carnage was first introduced in a post-credits sequence at the end of the original movie.

Andy Serkis directed the follow-up from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel and a story by Marcel and Hardy.

The Columbia Pictures movie, in association with Marvel and Tencent Pictures, also stars Reid Scott and Stephen Graham. It is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.

The sequel was originally scheduled to be released in October 2020 but was postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, most recently vacating from Oct. 15 date to Oct. 1, 2021.

The decision comes on the heels of the strong performance of fellow comic book movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, from Disney and Marvel Studios.
