The 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival is one of the first major events to take place in Europe since the coronavirus outbreak which led to the cancellation of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival event earlier this year.
The festival organizer La Biennale di Venezia is proud of having shown that the festival can happen in spite of the pandemic by putting in place all the safety measures that include: mandatory face masks, physical distancing, temperature checks and a wall built around the red carpet to separate the public from the attending celebrities.
Even though the attendance was limited this year, many celebrities still showed up on the red carpet in fashionable stylish looks like:

The Venice Film Festival jury president showed up wearing a cape dress by Esteban Cortazar with a medical face mask. Blanchett also greeted the Venice Film Festival director Alberto Barbera by touching elbows to follow the safety measures.
At the screening of the “Amants” film, Blanchett arrived wearing Alexander McQueen. She wore a hand-embroidered floral asymmetric top with wool silk trousers.

The Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton showed up wearing a white Chanel Haute Couture ensemble and holding a custom-made James Merry face mask that was inspired by Venice’s Rialto Fish Market and sea creatures at both the opening ceremony and the premiere of “Lacci” an Italian romantic drama.

The Victoria’s Secret angel showed up wearing an Etro crystal-embroidered floral chiffon gown for the festival’s opening ceremony and the screening of the film “Lacci”. As well as wearing a custom Etro midnight blue velvet and silk satin wrap dress for the film “Amants” premiere.

The Dutch “Outlander” actress walked the red carpet in an Alberta Ferretti dress ahead of the opening ceremony. Verbeek is the star of the upcoming psychological drama “The Book of Vision” that is opening Venice Critics’ Week.

The Australian “Magic in the Moonlight” actress showed up wearing a Dior dress at the “Amants” film premiere.
Many other celebrities like Claire Denis and Pedro Almodóvar showed some remarkable summer ensembles with face masks in the 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival that started on Wednesday, September 2nd and is set to end on Wednesday, September 12th.
