Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday appealed to Christians around the world to stand against the genocide of Palestinians and called for holding a global conference and returning “land, independence and sovereignty” to Palestine.

“I ask my Christian brothers and sisters in the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church - in Venezuela and around the world - to raise their voices and say enough to annihilate the people of Gaza and the Palestinian people,” Maduro said on his television program “With Maduro+.”

He added: "The genocide must stop, and a global conference must be held as soon as possible to restore the rights of the Palestinian people to peace, land, independence, and their own state."

Yesterday, Monday, the death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing exceeded five thousand people since the start of the war on October 7.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that "the total number of victims of the Israeli aggression since the beginning of the aggression against Gaza amounted to 5,078 martyrs, including 2,055 children," confirming that 15,273 people were injured.
