On Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced a 10-day suspension of the social media platform "X," formerly known as Twitter, following multiple violations of Venezuelan laws.
The platform, owned by American businessman Elon Musk, was accused of breaching several legal standards.
During a meeting outside the presidential palace, Maduro stated that "X" had repeatedly violated the country's laws by inciting hatred, fascism, civil war, death, and conflict among Venezuelans.
He emphasized that the platform's actions clearly violated Venezuelan regulations.
Maduro signed a decree to temporarily halt the platform's operations in Venezuela until it provides assurances that it will comply with local laws and standards.
The suspension reflects growing tensions between the Venezuelan government and international tech companies operating within the country.
