Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and first lady received on Saturday the first dose of Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine.
"As I promised to the people, I keep my promise ... My first dose, I got vaccinated," Maduro tweeted, according to Sputnik news agency
Last December, Venezuela signed a contract with Russia to purchase 10 million doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines.
It is worth mentioning that Venezuela has so far registered 141,356 cases of coronavirus and 1,371 deaths.
