Venezuela has sent its first-ever shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the United States, marking a historic milestone for the South American nation.
Interim President Delcy Rodríguez announced the development on Sunday evening via her Telegram account, confirming that the vessel *Crisobigi Lady* transported the LNG to the US, a first in Venezuela’s history, as the country had never previously exported LNG to any nation.
Rodríguez highlighted the significance of the shipment, linking it to national recovery efforts following a U.S. military operation earlier this month on January 3.
“We celebrate this historic achievement of exporting our first LNG cargo,” Rodríguez stated. “It represents a major step forward in supporting the welfare of the Venezuelan people.”
The milestone reflects Venezuela’s expanding energy exports and its ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations with major global partners, including the United States, in the face of regional and economic challenges.
