President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan expressed strong support for international efforts to stabilize and rebuild Gaza, stressing his country’s readiness to contribute to post-conflict recovery.

In remarks delivered at the inaugural summit of the Board of Peace, Mirziyoyev thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for convening the meeting, describing the gathering as the result of Washington’s political will and pragmatic approach to regional challenges.

The Uzbek leader affirmed that his country supports the peacebuilding initiative behind the establishment of the Board and is committed to participating in its practical implementation. He voiced confidence that the body’s work would help create favorable conditions for Gaza’s economic and social recovery.

Mirziyoyev stressed that any external governance mechanism for Gaza must be based on the support and consent of the territory’s population, underscoring the importance of local legitimacy in post-conflict arrangements.

He added that coordinated action among all concerned parties would be essential to ensure the sustainability of the recovery process and to enable rapid reconstruction across the Gaza Strip.

Highlighting Uzbekistan’s potential role, Mirziyoyev said his country is prepared to make a tangible contribution to rebuilding key civilian infrastructure, including residential housing, kindergartens, schools, and hospitals.

The Uzbek president noted the symbolic significance of holding the meeting at the United States Institute of Peace, describing the summit as a reflection of growing international solidarity and a shared desire to improve conditions in the Middle East.

Concluding his address, Mirziyoyev called on participants to seize what he described as a historic opportunity to help create a “New Gaza” characterized by economic vitality and improved living conditions for its residents.
