The United States of America (USA) said that she is ready to support Ukraine against what it described as "malign" Russian activities,   through sanctions and other means.

The USA’s offer comes at a time when she expresses concern about Russian military activities near the Ukrainian border.

The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, signed a charter of a strategic partnership to support Ukraine's efforts to counter armed aggression and "malicious" cyber activity by Russia by maintaining sanctions on Moscow.

According to the charter, “The United States intends to support Ukraine’s efforts to counter armed aggression, economic and energy disruptions, and malicious cyber activity by Russia.

The USA pledges to support Ukraine by applying other relevant measures until territorial integrity is restored inclining to the Crimea Peninsula that was taken over by Russia in 2014.  Washington also affirms backing Ukraine within her territory and within internationally recognized borders.

Blinken said the administration of US President Joe Biden will continue to work with US lawmakers to provide more security assistance to Ukraine, including sophisticated defensive weapons.

He continued to say the USA  is concerned about reports of unusual Russian military activity near Ukraine. He stressed that the US intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the region, as they always do.

Blinken revealed that his country will continue to consult closely with allies and partners on this issue.

He pointed out Washington has made clear that any aggressive actions would be of great concern to the United States.

“We will work with Congress to ensure that we continue to provide the security assistance Ukraine needs, including defensive weapons to defend against any Russian aggression,” Blinken said.

He added that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, citing data from the country's main intelligence department, reported earlier that about 90,000 Russian soldiers are present near the borders of the republic and in the Donbas.
