The Washington Post, a US daily newspaper, said that the United States of America ( USA) has witnessed an average of two mass shootings per day this year, according to the Archives of Gun Violence, which tracks incidents in which four or more people are shot, and it has become unusual for a day to pass in the United States without a mass shooting.

And the newspaper spoke in its editorial about the epidemic of shooting incidents and said that it could happen anywhere and to anyone, as 14 Americans were killed in accidents this month in Colorado, Virginia.

In all cases, as often happens, there are warning signs that are missed, or ignored.

These tragedies often occur with individual cases of mental illness. But that doesn't explain why there have been more than 600 mass shootings in the United States every year since 2020, and why no other country comes close to this level of gun violence.
