Australian Newspaper: Washington Deploys Nuclear Bombers in Canberra to Dissuade China from Invading Taiwan

The United States of America (USA) plans to deploy six B-52 nuclear bombers near the city of Darwin as part of a strategy experts say will discourage China from invading Taiwan, but increases the risk of an invasion of Taiwan, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on Monday. The chance of Australia being dragged into the conflict.

The newspaper indicated - in a report, published on its website - that the USA plans to build facilities for up to six B-52 bombers at Tindall Air Force Base in South Darwin, while the US Department of Defense has allocated a budget of $23 million; to build these new facilities.

In this context, the US Air Force stated: "The ability to deploy US bombers in Australia sends a strong message to adversaries about its ability to project lethal air power, and that Australia's ability to host US Air Force bombers, as well as training alongside them, demonstrates the extent of the integration of our air forces ".
