The United States has withdrawn its B-52H Stratofortress bombers from RAF Fairford in the UK, ending a deployment that supported military operations against Iran, according to The War Zone (TWZ).
The aircraft reportedly departed the British base after a mission that began with the outbreak of hostilities on February 28, marking the end of several months of operations linked to the Iran campaign.
RAF Fairford hosted four US strategic bombers in March, including two B-52H Stratofortress aircraft and two B-1B Lancer bombers, which carried out combat sorties during the military operation.
The withdrawal comes after the bombers were used to bolster US long-range strike capabilities in the region during the conflict with Iran.
