US Vice President JD Vance emphasized that the newly concluded agreement between the United States and Iran could radically transform the Middle East over the coming decades, provided that Tehran abides by all of its clauses and commitments.
In an interview with Fox News, Vance stated that the agreement explicitly stipulates Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon, nor will it seek to develop, acquire, or attempt to purchase one by any means whatsoever, considering this point to be the cornerstone of the new understanding between the two sides.
The US Vice President added that the agreement includes the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, alongside the lifting of the naval blockade imposed by the United States on Iran, coinciding with the commencement of implementing the clauses of the memorandum of understanding.
Vance explained that there are real benefits and gains that Iran will receive in the coming phase, stressing that the continuity of these gains is strictly tied to the extent of Tehran's compliance with its own share of the obligations outlined in the agreement.
The Vice President's remarks come as part of a series of international reactions welcoming the agreement, amid expectations that it will contribute to defusing regional tensions, enhancing maritime navigation security, and stabilizing global energy markets.
