The U.S. State Department has called on American citizens to leave Iran immediately, citing heightened security risks, according to Al Qahera News.
In a statement issued early Tuesday, the State Department warned that U.S. nationals currently in Iran face serious dangers, including the risk of interrogation and arrest by Iranian authorities. The advisory reflects growing concerns over the safety of Americans amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The State Department did not specify a deadline for departure but emphasized that Iran does not recognize dual nationality and treats dual U.S.-Iranian citizens solely as Iranian nationals, limiting U.S. consular access.
U.S. officials continue to advise Americans against traveling to Iran under any circumstances, reiterating that the security environment remains volatile and unpredictable.
