The United States of America called on Chinese President Xi Jinping, after his call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, not to take the wrong side of history, according to Al-Arabiya.
Via a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed on Wednesday his country’s readiness to develop bilateral cooperation with Russia.
“The Chinese side is ready to cooperate with the Russian side to ensure the stable and long-term development of bilateral trade cooperation,” the Chinese president said, according to (Russia Today) news channel.
“Despite global changes and instability in the world since the beginning of this year, Chinese – Russian relations have maintained a good momentum of development,” the Chinese president noted, stressing Beijing’s willingness to help Russia in national security affairs.
China is ready for close strategic cooperation with Russia to provide mutual support, taking into account the main interests of both sides regarding sovereignty and national security.
The call comes amid news reports that say that China has become the largest importer of Russia’s energy resources.
