US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan discussed the coronavirus pandemic and other issues during a call on Wednesday, according to the Treasury Department.
In a statement, the Treasury Department said that Yellen emphasized the need to address the enormous challenges of ending the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting global economic recovery, combating income inequality, and aggressively addressing the threat of climate change.
The US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the US will cooperate with Saudi Arabia where the interests of the two countries converge. He added that his country will not tolerate clarification of common interests to promote global security.
