The US threatened to impose new sanctions on Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi militia after their recent drone and missile attacks, especially on the UAE.

"We've taken several steps, including over the past few weeks and months, and I expect we'll take additional actions in light of the Houthi reprehensible attacks, launched from Yemen in recent days and weeks," State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.

A few days ago, the US condemned the missile attack carried out by the Houthi group to target the United Arab Emirates.

“We condemn the recent missile attack by the Houthis on Abu Dhabi,” Price said in a tweet, noting that the Houthi group continues to launch attacks that threaten civilians.

The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that its air defenses destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi terrorist group towards the country; the attack did not result in any losses, as the remnants of the ballistic missile fell outside the populated areas.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation of the United Arab Emirates announced that there is no impact on flights and airports because of the ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group on the country, according to what the official Emirates News Agency "WAM" reported.
