On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that his country has decided to suspend part of its aid allocated to Gabon in the wake of the military coup that this country witnessed last month.

Blinken noted that the American government is suspending part of the foreign aid programs that benefit the government of Gabon until we conduct an evaluation of the unconstitutional interference carried out by individuals in this country's army.

It is noteworthy that the election results were canceled and all the institutions of the republic were dissolved after the National Authority in charge of elections in Gabon announced the re-election of Ali Bongo, who has ruled the country for 14 years, as president for a third term, winning 64.27% of the votes in the last elections.

The Transitional Phase Committee confirmed earlier that Libreville will respect all its internal and external obligations, in the wake of the coup that ousted President Ali Bongo Ondimba.
