On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a phone call with the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
According to an official statement by the US State Department, Rubio discussed several issues, including the means to establish peace and stability in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.
In addition, economic growth and investment were among the discussed topics between both officials.
The US official "underscored the need for dialogue and regional stability. Secretary Rubio commended Ethiopia’s economic reforms, highlighting their potential to expand opportunities for US trade and investment," the statement concluded.
