US, Serbia Agree on Need to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

During her meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric in Belgrade, US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Liz Allen agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between US and Serbia as well as accelerating Serbia’s progress toward joining the European Union.

For his part, Liz Allen urged the Serbian side to continue progress towards normalizing relations with Kosovo through the European Union-facilitated dialogue, and welcomed Serbia's contributions to European and regional security, including through its support for Ukraine, according to a statement published on US Department of state website.

Moreover, both sides discussed "the importance of combating malignant foreign influence to create an open information space as well as opportunities to deepen educational and cultural relations between the Serbian and American peoples."
