On Wednesday, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Independent of Vermont, criticized the Israeli forces’ cutting off electricity, food, fuel, and water to more than two million people in the Gaza Strip.
Sanders described this measure as a “dangerous violation of international law” that would cause hundreds of deaths and injuries and the suffering of thousands of children.
He said - in a statement carried by the American newspaper "The Hill" that "Targeting civilians is a war crime, regardless of who committed it.
The US Senator condemned Israel for deprivation of food, water, and other necessities to Gaza as a serious violation of international law and will do nothing but harm innocent civilians."
He added: “We must also insist on restraint on the part of Israel, which is attacking Gaza, and work to secure the arrival of UN humanitarian aid.
