US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called on Sunday for more US military operations in Iran, stating that the ongoing stalemate in the conflict "hurts us all."
"I think the status quo hurts us all," Graham said in statements reported by the US news network NBC News on Sunday. "The longer the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and the more we strive to reach an agreement that will never materialize, the stronger Iran becomes."
Graham added that so far in the Iranian conflict, "there is no indication that the current officials have changed regarding the regime's goal of terrorizing the world and attacking us," as he put it.
Moreover, Graham called on US President Donald Trump to "weaken them further," explaining that "what President Trump did was militarily amazing, but there are still other targets that can be hit, and there are things we can do to inflict damage on Iran."
