US Senate Fails for 11th Time to End Washington Government Shutdown

The US Senate has once again failed to end the ongoing government shutdown, marking the eleventh unsuccessful attempt to reopen the federal government.

The Democratic-controlled chamber voted 50–43 against advancing a House-backed bill that would have funded the government through November, falling short of the 60 votes needed.

Two Democrats supported the measure alongside Republicans, while one Democrat was absent. The vote comes as the shutdown enters its third week, with little sign of progress between the two parties.

Democrats continue to insist on extending enhanced healthcare subsidies before agreeing to reopen the government, a demand Republicans refuse to meet. The GOP argues that discussions on tax relief can only begin after the government is funded.

Both sides blame each other for the crisis, which has disrupted federal operations and heightened public frustration. Another vote is expected on Wednesday, though analysts predict the deadlock could continue into November.
