U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States can see the “finish line” in its ongoing war with Iran, signaling confidence within the administration that its military objectives are nearing completion.
In an interview with Fox News, Rubio stated that while the conflict is not expected to end immediately, its conclusion is in sight. “The end of the war with Iran is not today or tomorrow, but it will come,” he said, adding that no external support to Tehran would hinder Washington’s mission.
Rubio noted that the United States remains open to diplomacy, suggesting that direct talks with Iran could take place at a later stage. However, he stressed that Washington would not compromise on its strategic goals. He also indicated that relations with the NATO may be reassessed following the conflict.
The top U.S. diplomat underscored that President Donald Trump would approach any negotiations cautiously, warning against what he described as Iran’s attempts to manipulate diplomatic efforts.
Rubio further claimed that U.S. forces are close to achieving their military objectives, alleging that Iran had been working to assemble components necessary for producing nuclear warheads.
Rubio's remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and continued international concern over Iran’s nuclear program and the broader implications of the conflict.
