The U.S. State Department emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza, asserting that such an agreement is achievable.
Regarding Syria, the department stated that it is continuing to assess the situation before deploying U.S. personnel, highlighting the importance of adhering to the disengagement agreement.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian National Council condemned the horrific scenes in northern Gaza, where stray dogs are scavenging the bodies of martyrs, describing it as a deliberate affront to human dignity.
In a statement released on Wednesday, as reported by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the council declared that these scenes expose the criminal and unethical nature of the racist Israeli government. It further stated that the ongoing massacres represent a dark chapter in the history of humanity and the international community.
The council called for the urgent mobilization of international aid convoys to access affected areas in Gaza and demanded immediate protection for civilians. It stressed that these continued atrocities are a stark indictment of those who adopt the Israeli narrative, defend its actions, or absolve it of committing war crimes against humanity.
