A U.S. official announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Israel on February 28 to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.
As reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP), the official—speaking on condition of anonymity—stated that the visit comes within the context of consultations regarding regional developments, particularly the Iranian file.
This announcement follows Netanyahu's visit to Washington last week for talks with President Donald Trump, during which he called for the adoption of a hardline approach toward Iran.
Last June, Israel launched an offensive against Iran that triggered a 12-day war, during which the United States joined by striking key nuclear sites.
