US Secretary of State Antony Blinken intends to go to China next Wednesday to discuss a number of issues, including the situation in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine.
During the visit, Blinken will meet with senior Chinese officials in Shanghai and Beijing to discuss a range of bilateral, regional and global issues, including the crisis in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, as well as issues across the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea.
The minister will also discuss ongoing work to fulfill the commitments made by the two presidents at the Woodside Summit last November regarding resuming anti-drug cooperation, military communications between the two armies, artificial intelligence, and strengthening people-to-people relations.
He will reiterate the importance of the United States and China managing competition responsibly, even in areas where there are differences between the two countries.
