The French presidency announced, Wednesday, that President Emmanuel Macron will receive on Thursday, US Secretary of State Rubio and US envoy to the Middle East, Witkoff.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who is tasked with ending the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, are scheduled to travel to Paris later this week, two sources familiar with the matter told Politico.
The two sources said that Witkoff will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, while Rubio will meet with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot.
An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Rubio's visit to Paris will be the first stop on a tour that will later take him to Africa.
They are expected to discuss Ukraine, Iran, and trade relations, amid rising tensions due to Trump's tariff war.
