US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived Thursday morning in Tel Aviv, where he is expected to meet with Israeli leaders to discuss extending the temporary truce and enhancing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
According to Reuters, a Palestinian official said that Blinken, who is making his third visit to the region since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, is expected to visit the occupied West Bank, where he is likely to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Hamas leader Bassem Naim confirmed on Wednesday that the movement is ready to release all the Israeli soldiers it is holding in the Gaza Strip in exchange for Israel releasing all Palestinian prisoners, with negotiations continuing to extend the temporary truce hours before its end.
