US President Donald Trump's campaign website got hacked and defaced Tuesday night.
"This site was seized, " read a message that was posted on the donaldjtrump.com page. The message can be read in full below.
However, there was no access to sensitive data, according to a spokesman for the campaign.
“Earlier this evening, the Trump campaign website was defaced and we are working with law enforcement authorities to investigate the source of the attack. There was no exposure to sensitive data because none of it is actually stored on the site. The website has been restored,” Tim Murtaugh, communications director for the campaign, wrote on Twitter.
It is unclear how the hacker or hackers accessed the Trump campaign site.
In July, hackers managed to break into numerous Twitter accounts, including Trump's rival Joe Biden and former US President Barack Obama, in a different scam aimed at getting cryptocurrency.
However, Trump's account was untouched. A Florida teenager was charged with being the mastermind of the scam.
