US President Joe Biden arrived Thursday in Japan, where he will participate from Friday to Sunday in a summit of the Group of Seven leaders (G7) in Hiroshima.
The presidential plane, Air Force One, landed at around 16:00 (7:00 GMT) at the US base of Iwakuni, about 40 km from Hiroshima.
In the evening, the US President will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
G7 countries attending the summit - the UK, Japan, Germany, the US, France, Canada, and Italy - are closely tied with China economically
The summit is expected to focus on Russia as Vladimir Putin continues his invasion of Ukraine.
