The United States has pledged $150 million in humanitarian assistance for Venezuela following twin earthquakes that killed 235 people, according to the US State Department.
The aid package includes $50 million for local humanitarian organizations and $100 million for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to support emergency relief operations.
The State Department also announced that two search-and-rescue teams will be deployed to assist with recovery efforts and the search for missing persons in the earthquake-hit areas.
