The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to deport a group of migrants, including Syrians and Iranians, to the Central African Republic as part of its broader immigration crackdown.
According to media reports citing US sources, the first deportation flight could carry around 20 migrants, including citizens of Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, and one Turkish national.
The move comes as President Donald Trump continues efforts to curb illegal immigration and accelerate deportations. Since returning to office, Trump has declared a national emergency at the southern border and pledged stricter enforcement measures.
The administration has also sought to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) protections for thousands of Syrians living in the United States. However, court rulings have so far blocked the termination of protections for migrants from several countries, including Syria, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Haiti, and Myanmar.
US authorities have not officially confirmed the reported deportation plans, which could further fuel debate over the administration's immigration policies.
