U.S. Department of State has ordered non-essential government employees and their families to leave the Sultanate of Oman, citing safety risks amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

This development follows an announcement by Omani authorities regarding the deaths of two people after two drones fell in the Wilayat of Sohar.

The incident occurs amidst reports of Iranian attacks targeting Gulf states, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates also announcing they had intercepted missile and drone strikes.

The Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that the fatalities occurred when a drone struck an industrial area in Sohar.

Quoting a security source, the agency stated: "Two drones fell in the Wilayat of Sohar; one landed in the Al-Ohi industrial area, resulting in the deaths of two expatriates and several injuries. The second fell in an open area without causing any casualties. Competent authorities are continuing to manage the situation and investigate both incidents."
