Samuel Werberg, regional spokesperson for U.S. State Department, stated that President Donald Trump has emphasized since the beginning of his term that the U.S. and the international community are focused on the reconstruction of Gaza and ensuring suitable living conditions in the region.
During an interview via Zoom from Abu Dhabi on Extra News, Werberg highlighted that Trump, having been a businessman involved in infrastructure and real estate in New York, understands the importance of providing appropriate living conditions for any population.
He acknowledged that the current situation in Gaza remains difficult.
Werberg further explained that discussions regarding Egypt's initiative for Gaza reconstruction are ongoing.
He clarified that Trump's statements are not contradictory, as he never suggested that the U.S. would forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.
Instead, he approaches the issue from a business perspective and believes that officials have a long road ahead to facilitate Gaza’s reconstruction.
