Russia is preparing for a new military operation in Ukraine's Donbas region, a US official revealed.
In press remarks to the "Al-Hurra" TV channel, the official added that Russia continues to bomb several cities in southern and eastern Ukraine.
Mariupol city is still disputed, the official confirmed, based on US estimates, adding that Kharkiv city and its surroundings are subjected to violent bombing.
On Monday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced that 6 sub-traction stations through which foreign weapons and military equipment are delivered to the Ukrainian forces were destroyed in Donbas.
Moreover, he added that 27 military installations in Ukraine were hit by high-precision aerial missile strikes.
The Russian-Ukrainian war has entered its second month as thousands of soldiers from both sides have been killed and millions have been displaced from the Ukrainian side since the start of Russian operations in Ukrainian territory on February 24.
Several countries have imposed significant economic sanctions on Moscow, while Russia has responded by imposing personal sanctions on a number of American and Canadian leaders.
